Ian Steele
Ian Steele is important to the history of British Columbia pottery primarily due to his association with Bernard Leach and Shoji Hamada. Born in Saskatchewan and educated in Vancouver at the VSA, Steele was one of four BC potters who apprenticed at the Leach pottery in St. Ives England in the early 1960s. He brought this influence back to Nanoose Bay on the west coast before leaving Canada for England in 1977.
Any piece of pottery by Ian Steele is of interest to me. If you have one to sell please contact me here. |
